We take great pride in our membership, especially those that served or continue to serve this great country of ours. We have many members that currently serve on active duty or are former or retired members of the armed forces.

The Half Moon Fire Department is always looking for people who show an active interest in becoming a firefighter. If you are looking for excitement, camaraderie, and an opportunity to serve your neighbors and the public, the emergency services may be just what you need. Half Moon Fire Department provides you with the latest equipment and training in order to become a North Carolina Certified Firefighter.
Prospective members are required to get a back ground search done prior to action being taken on their application. This will cost $25.00 at the Court House in Jacksonville. A prospective member must live within 6 miles of the Half Moon Fire Department itself and not in another volunteer Fire Department's district. The 6 mile requirement is not waiverable.
